PercentPoint

Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 2, 2026

This policy describes how PercentPoint (“we”, “us”) handles information when you visit https://percentpoint.com (the “Site”). PercentPoint is responsible for the personal information described here. Questions: hello@percentpoint.com.

In short

  • There are no accounts. We don’t ask for your name, email address or school.
  • Grades, prices and other numbers you type into a calculator are processed in your browser and are not sent to us.
  • Our host, Cloudflare, processes technical request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the Site.
  • We don’t run analytics or tracking scripts, and the Site sets no cookies.
  • The Site shows no ads today. We may show ads from Google AdSense in the future; if we do, we will update this policy first, and Google and its partners may then use cookies for advertising, subject to your consent where the law requires it.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. Please don’t send sensitive personal information such as student ID numbers or financial account details.

1.2 Calculator inputs

The calculators run as code on your device. The grades, credits, costs and prices you enter stay in your browser for as long as the page is open and are not transmitted to our servers.

1.3 Technical data

When your browser requests a page, our hosting provider receives standard request data: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the page requested, the referring page, and the time of the request. This is used to serve the Site, keep it secure and diagnose errors.

2. How we use information

  • to run, secure and improve the Site;
  • to answer messages and handle privacy requests;
  • to meet legal obligations.

3. Cookies and advertising

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. The Site sets no cookies and needs none to work. It shows no ads today. If we add Google AdSense in the future, advertising cookies may be set by Google and its ad partners when ads are shown, as described below, and we will update this policy before that happens. You can delete or block cookies in your browser at any time; the calculators work the same without them.

3.1 Google AdSense (if ads are added)

If the Site starts showing ads from Google AdSense:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
  • You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EEA and UK).

If you opt out of personalized ads, you may still see ads that are not personalized.

3.2 Consent

If ads are added, we will use Google’s consent management tool (Google Privacy & messaging), which is certified under the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework. Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland will be asked for consent before advertising cookies are used, with Google’s tags running with consent denied until a choice is made, and visitors in US states with consumer privacy laws will be offered a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link provided by Google. The “Privacy & cookie settings” link in the footer will then let you revisit your choice; until ads are added, it opens this page.

4. Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)

We rely on legitimate interests to run and secure the Site, on consent for advertising cookies and personalized ads if ads are added, on the need to answer your request when you write to us, and on legal obligation where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.

5. Sharing

We do not sell personal information for money. Information is shared only with Cloudflare (hosting and security), with Google and its advertising partners if ads are added (subject to your choices), and with authorities where the law requires it.

6. Retention

Server and security logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period, typically no more than 30 days unless needed to investigate abuse. Emails are kept as long as needed to deal with your message and then deleted, normally within 24 months.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising. Email hello@percentpoint.com to make a request; we will respond within the time the law allows. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

8. Children

Many visitors are students. The Site does not ask anyone for personal information and is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International transfers

Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, they rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

10. Changes

If we change how we collect, use or share information, we will update the effective date above. Wording changes that do not affect our practices are shown as a last-updated date.
